Goal No. 1 of the UN Development Programme SDGs is to eradicate poverty in all its forms. While the number of people living in extreme poverty dropped by more than half between 1990 and 2015, too many are still struggling for the most basic human needs.
EUTECC joined forces with TUM, TUM International GmbH and the St. Isidore Prosperity Hub to change the future of the island of Roatan in Honduras. The St. Isidore Prospertity Hub ecosystem of the future will offer smart and integrated energy production, a hub for maritime industry and a “blue innovation cluster”. The island’s indigenous community of the Garifunga will benefit from schools, vocational training, a world-class medical system and play an active role in the sustainable economic development of St. Isidore Prosperity Hub.
