27 April – EU Tech Chamber Mobility Council – Topic: Trends in Europe’s Mobility Industry

One of the future biggest trends is the implementation of Mobility as a service. Mobility-as-a-Service is a trendy topic as of late, and specially so since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many cities have already started experimenting with different formats and solutions, and, as is frequently the case in the mobility world, stumble upon common innovation barriers – including the tendency to “reinvent the wheel”.

From the perspective of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) or a Public Transport Operator (PTO), the question is which principles of public transport can or should be adopted when creating a MaaS ecosystem. The Mobility Service Provider (MSP), on the other hand, faces challenges of how to maintain or build a viable and competitive business model. Common to both is the challenge of collaborating with partners and competitors to implement an affordable, sustainable, and human-centric Mobility-as-a-Service.

The purpose of our panel discussion is to uncover some of the most frequent challenges that are faced by the multiple stakeholders involved in promoting MaaS solutions, and how non-conventional partnerships and mindsets are necessary for MaaS solutions to be truly inclusive and beneficial to citizens.

Please allow us to welcome you to our upcoming EU Tech Chamber Mobility Council Digital Panel on “Trends in Europe’s Mobility Industry” on Tuesday April 27th 2021 starting at 9:00 am CET, and explore together how mobility can be better innovated and upgraded.
