A successful industrialisation path usually builds on economies that offer access to infrastructure & services, are trade-orientated, and build on shared value partnerships: Concerning Sub-Saharan Africa, when moving from subsistence to the production of goods and services in order to achieve higher rates of economic development, it is important to be aware of the key drivers for sustainable & inclusive growth in order to apply them both, in cities and communities.
The identification of key strenghts together with market-building for local integrated value chains, advancing cross-sectoral cooperation as well as the facilitation of renewable energies via mini-grids plus ICT will be essential for new goods & services that will be affordable for the local population but can also generate new jobs by accessing new markets.
Today, the EU Tech Chamber brings together experts from Africa and Europe to make use of lessons learnt and to develop key recommendations in order to help the Sub-Saharan region timely achieve its SDG 9 & 11 objectives. In what way ca we improve regional collaborations and are there good examples for building clusters for industrialisation that can be used for new pilot projects? How can we build up integrated markets in Sub-Saharan Africa more effectively? and What are the key necessary key steps to capture the business opportunities for change and growth? And what is expected from public & private leadership today to prepare for future challenges, navigating through technological complexity and enabling them to make sustainable and impactful decisions?
