In Latin America and the Caribbean, it has been hit a thousands people who have died from the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), unfortunately one of the highest mortality rate in the world.
In addition, the region as a whole faces a humanitarian crisis derived from political instability, the fragility of health systems, among others.
As Latin America finds itself as the current coronavirus hotspot in the world, technology companies and governments are working together to curb the spread and help patients in need.
Technology and innovation provide new tools and opportunities for the region to cope with the current crisis and overcome longer-term development challenges.
Technologies are essential to mitigate some impacts in the face of this crisis. However, the importance of bringing solutions and innovation together through collaborations has become even more apparent in the Covid -19 era.
